Many concerns can stand in the way of someone who needs addiction treatment and getting help. Aside from the unnecessary shame and social stigma associated with going to rehab, things like cost, home or work obligations, and thinking they don’t have the time to devote to getting well keep people stuck in the cycle of addiction. However, there is a wide range of treatment options available that are entirely customizable to each person’s unique needs.

One of these programs is an evening intensive outpatient program (IOP). The evening IOP at Liberty Health Services in New Hampshire allows individuals to focus on their treatment and healing while also maintaining their personal responsibilities and obligations in their daily lives. Continue going to work or taking care of your children during the day while getting professional addiction treatment at night at Liberty Health Services. What Is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

An intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a specialized form of treatment for individuals with addiction and/or substance use disorders. It provides intensive and comprehensive care in an outpatient setting, allowing those seeking help to continue living their daily lives while receiving the support they need for recovery. IOP typically consists of group therapy, individual therapy, psychosocial education, and individualized treatment planning. IOP also often includes family therapy, 12-step or other recovery support meetings, medication management services, psychiatric consultation services, and community resource coordination. The goal of intensive outpatient programs is to help individuals struggling with addiction build the skills needed to maintain sobriety while living in a supportive environment.

Conditions an IOP can treat include:

  • Substance use disorder (drug or alcohol addiction)
  • Mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, and mood disorders
  • Behavioral issues
  • Eating disorders
  • Process addictions like gambling or shopping

Intensive outpatient programs are intended for individuals who do not require medical detoxification or need 24/7 supervision.

The Benefits of an Evening Intensive Outpatient Program in New Hampshire

There are several reasons why an IOP can be beneficial to the recovery process. Some of the most significant benefits include affordability, flexibility while staying structured, the ability to maintain responsibilities and obligations while still participating in effective treatment and access to additional recovery resources after your treatment program is completed to ensure your ongoing success.

Affordability

An intensive outpatient program costs less than residential or inpatient treatment because you will not need housing, meals, essentials, or detox.

Flexibility and Structure

Receive effective, structured addiction treatment 9-15 hours a week during the evening so you can maintain your daily routine and still focus on healing and recovery. Weekly hours vary from program to program.

Maintain Responsibilities and Obligations

Your treatment does not have to pull you away from your job or family responsibilities. An IOP attended in the evenings ensures you are able to meet your obligations.

Receive Effective Treatment

The quality of the treatment you will receive in an IOP is as effective as the treatment you would receive in a longer-term residential program or inpatient program.

Recovery Resources

The support doesn’t end when treatment ends. Access aftercare programs, relapse prevention programs, peer support groups, and educational resources to ensure your maintained sobriety.
